My Fishy Paradise

There’s a common among the sharks, where they love to make others fishes looks stupid so it can make them feel more superior….

Today is a really bad luck day for me…….this Bitch Shark been trying to be very difficult all times. I think she just plainly want to revenge to our department cause she is in the bad term with my boss (but my boss’s position is higher than her therefore she can’t really do anything to him), so she chooses small fish like me to vent her frustration. Sigh…….:(

This is how she vent her frustrations on me..:

• First time I ask her regarding a project which was funded under our department budget. Regarding the notification email to the person-in-charge and Finance Dept, who should send out the email? Bitch Shark: You know what, Angelfish it is your dept who are responsible to send out the notification email to them. My dept are not supposed to send out any email as the project was under your dept’s fund.
• Today I started to sent out the notification emails to everyone who involved in this project. Suddenly received an email from Bitch Shark, she wrote:

 “Dear Angelfish,

PLEASE DO NOT BY-PASS our dept whenever you need to inform any parties. For your information, all these notification emails are supposed to be send out by my dept and you DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY to do that. By doing this, it shown that you did not follow the procedure of our company at all! I hope this won’t be happen again.

Dear All,

Please ignore email previously sent by Ms Angelfish. Please note this project is funded by XX dept (which is my dept). The following email is a follow-up from BB dept (Bitch Shark’s dept).

(please take note: in this very same email Bitch Shark she email and cc to the whole underwater including all the sharks and also big boss and most importantly she wrote the whole email using RED colour and BIG FONT, honestly speaking lor the words so huge I think even blind also can read…)

Sigh….C’est la vie…..

Phew! Finally manage to compile all the documents and stats required by Great White Shark on time:)

8.00 am

• Angelfish reached office, immediate switch on the computer. Scanning through the emails and replying emails while eatingswallowing my breakfast (I nearly choked!!)

8.30am

• As usual Great White Shark suddenly order me to finish compile all the information and stats (including getting all the Hods Sharks approval and signature) by 12 noon.

8.30~10.45am

• Little Angelfish manages to finished compile all the information and stats.

10.45~11.40 am

• Little Angelfish running swimming around to get all the signature from Sharks for approval (Sigh! of course in between poor little Angelfish need to endures the Shark’s scolding and nagging)

11.40~12 pm

• Unable to carry all the documents to Great White Shark’s office (which require 15 minutes walking swimming distance!) Angelfish asking Clownfish to help her carrying the files Luckily manage to submit on time phew!

12.10 pm

• Angelfish and Clownfish sitting in a nice cafe, eating lunch and sipping mocha while enjoying breeze

1.30 pm

• Due to the heavy lunch, Angelfish doze off on her desk Zzzzz….. U_U

2.00 pm

• Continue working again, for another deadline set by Great White Shark -_-”

…………………until the day ends….

The Rules and Regulations of Polluted Sea Pte Ltd.

1. Punctuality

• Must reach office on time (but the company encourage all staff fishes to work OT for free)

    2.   Dress Code

• Must wear strictly office wear, must make sure every inch of your body was fully covered (all of us become real OL (old lady office lady)

   3.    Meal Time

• Must make sure you don’t go eat with your own friends, make sure come back on time (but you are encouraged to eat on your own table, alone)

   4.    Report movement

• Must report where you are going, what you will be doing and for how long. (imagine you need to report your every movement including going to toilet, no matter for small or big business must indicated and oh my gosh! have to estimate how long does it take for you to finish your business)

   5.    Not more than ten things on your working desk

• I often get into trouble with this rule, maybe because I’m bad with counting (let me count again- 1)handphone 2)cup 3)purse 4) 3 piles of files and document……crap I broke the rule again.. -_-” )

Here I am in this huge pollutted sea, still struggling to get used with polluted environment (stress, pressure, peer pressures, politics, conspiracy and so on…..) 

Yes in my office we have office undersea politic. There are few gangs in my neighbourhood, let me introduce them to you one by one.

1. Sharks (There are 2 types)

• Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias)- they are all the bosses and HoDs
• Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) – tame shark=kind bosses who often being bullied by other sharks (unfortunately my boss is a whale shark )

   2.   Swordfish and Octopus

• Swordfish (Xiphias gladius) – Swordfish observed moving through schools of fish, thrashing their swords to kill or stun their prey (which is me and my colleague) and then quickly turning to consume their catch. They are all the managers and assistant managers.
• Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) – A different type of managers and assistance managers. This type whenever any mistakes they did they will spit the ink to confuse everyone. And while everyone was being confused these octopus, they will starting to pushing blame on everyone with their eight arms (they are definately a Taichi Master)

   3.    Small fishes

• Piranha (Pygocentrus nattereri) – Type of small fishes too (same position/level like me). Do not fool by their harmless appearance, as they have a destructive mouth (they like to gossip and tell tales!!)
• Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare )-which is me (nothing particular I just simply love this name) my boyfriend called me Angel and I look like a fish so Angel + Fish = Angelfish
• Clownfish (Amphiprion) – my colleagues (also harmless like me ), like Nemo both Angelfish and Clownfish we are struggling to survive in this polluted sea.
